    Moreover, C6-ceramide had no effect on telomerase activity in vitro (data not shown), demonstrating that ceramide is indirectly involved in the inhibition of telomerase. Recently, we have developed a new method for immunoprecipitation of hTERT protein (Fig. 1 B) in A549 cell extracts using the hTERT rabbit polyclonal antibody (Santa Cruz Biotechnology) by lysing the cells in 1 × CHAPS buffer (45). As shown in Fig. 1 B, this antibody successfully recognized the 132-kDa hTERT protein using our protocol.
