2003, GeneCitation Excerpt :We therefore propose to term the early and inducible gene class “interferon primary response genes” (IPRGs) and the other group “interferon secondary response genes” (ISRGs). An additional feature of ISRGs is the lack of an obvious association with interferon signaling, and only one of them, p27kip is a characterized as being IFN inducible gene, and the gene has been described independently as being uninducible in resistant melanoma lines by conventional techniques (Moro et al., 2000). In contrast, more than half of the IPRGs in gene set 2 are established interferon inducible genes including three transcription factors.
