Moreover, Tax, RelA, p50, RNA polymerase II, and CBP/p300 colocalize in transcriptionally active small discrete nuclear foci (Bex and Gaynor, 1998; Bex et al., 1997). Indeed, Tax recruits the transcriptional coactivators CBP/p300 to p65/RelA, thereby significantly increasing NF-κB transcriptional activity (Bex et al., 1998).
