Summary
The two most commonly used amino acid media supplements do not improve the specific rate of secretion of Schizosaccharomyces pombe acid phosphatase in S. cerevisiae relative to unsupplemented Synthetic Dextrose (SD) media. New amino acid supplement formulations have been obtained which produce an 8-fold increase in total phosphatase secretion, and a 70% increase in specific phosphatase secretion.
