Breast carcinoma metastatic to the stomach

Report of a case in a male and review of an autopsy series

Summary

A male patient with cancer of the breast died of massive gastric hemorrhage. At autopsy a small ulcerated gastric metastasis was found responsible.

The autopsies of patients dying of metastatic breast cancer at our hospitals were reviewed, and the incidence of these lesions established and compared with the experience of others. When indicated, surgical intervention may afford useful palliation.
