Notes

  1. Efforts are underway to secure trademark protection for the acronym LESSCAR. The aim of trademark protection is not to restrict its use but rather to ensure that it can be used freely by all individuals, organizations, and institutions that wish to conduct research and use single-port procedures. It is possible that the term’s use might be restricted if a for-profit organization were to acquire trademark privileges.
