Changes in magnetic resonance signal intensity on T1- or T2-weighted images depend on the stage of biochemical evolution of the hematoma.3,31,32 Also, the hematoma rims appeared with low intensity on T2*-weighted images, which may have originated from the membrane containing hemosiderin or ferritin stored in macrophages and supports the hypothesis that CSEH is related to inflammation caused by the infiltrating cells.
