2016, Veterinary JournalCitation Excerpt :The expression of Tcf-4 in the PALS coincides in part with the distribution of CD4+ T cells (Pabst and Westermann, 1991). Because Tcf-4 is a transcription factor associated with genes that support proliferation (Giese et al., 1992; Roose and Clevers, 1999; Hurlstone and Clevers, 2002), it is likely that Tcf-4 may contribute to clonal expansion of T cells. Pigs receiving IFN-γ at the time of LPC vaccination showed upregulation of Tcf-4 expression, increased MHC class I and MHC class II, and enhanced IgG2 (Th1 immune response), which could contribute to anti-viral immunity.
