    Citation Excerpt :

After 24 h from the last treatment, rats were intravenously injected with 4 mg/kg of colchicine 3 h before sacrificing and both femurs of each animal were dissected, cleaned, and flushed with 0.075 M KCl. Bone marrow preparations were prepared according to the method of Preston et al. (1987) and stained with 5% Giemsa stain. A total of 100 cells spread metaphases were counted to record the chromosomal aberrations.
