    Citation Excerpt :

Such cues from the host brain can alter the survival and maturation of the grafted progenitor cells. For example, GDNF is known to facilitate the maturation of DA neurons (Rosenblad et al., 1996). More recently, zonisamide (Yoshikawa et al., 2013), chondroitinase (Kauhausen et al., 2015), and neurexophilin 3 (Nishimura et al., 2015) were reported to support the survival and neurite extension of the grafted DA neurons.
