Bony changes can be graded using the system proposed specifically for cherubism by Seward and Hankey or a modified version of it [2,19,20]. Oral mucosa, salivary secretion and quality of life in cherubism have not been systematically assessed previously.

Some authors have underlined the risk of exacerbating the disease by curettage3,11,12. The authors’ results and more recent series7,13,15 do not confirm this pattern.
