LettersFlyMove – a new way to look at development of Drosophila
Section snippets
FlyMove
FlyMove aims to use multimedia presentations to facilitate understanding of Drosophila development (Fig. 1). Animations and 3D-representations facilitate understanding of complex processes, morphogenetic movements or anatomic setups. In addition, microscope images and movies help to integrate these processes with real life. The use of interactive electronic media allows retrieval of selected information bit by bit to form a single scheme on screen. We also created camera-flights around a

The Manchester Fly Facility: Implementing an objective-driven long-term science communication initiative
2017, Seminars in Cell and Developmental BiologyCitation Excerpt :The site is being used worldwide, although not to a degree we would have hoped (∼10 K visitors, ∼35 K views; see “ManFlyFacility-Impact” document) [21]. It does not compete with, but rather raises further awareness of, other websites that promote Drosophila-specific science communication, such as droso4schools, FlyBase, FlyMove or Interactive Fly [32,41,44,45]. We present at Drosophila conferences and workshops explaining the rationale, importance and the different forms of Drosophila training, advocacy and science communication.
