  • Angioleiomyoma of the proper ulnar digital artery: Case report

2020, International Journal of Surgery Case Reports
    Citation Excerpt :

There are scarce reports about cases of angioleiomyoma in the hands [1–3,10]. Even rarer are the cases describing the tumor to have emerged from the digits [4,5,7,11–16]. Though classically originating from veins, five cases have been reported where the lesions arose from the digital artery [7,11,13,16,17].

  • Angioleiomyoma in the ankle mimicking tarsal tunnel syndrome: A case report and review of the literature

2010, Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery
    Citation Excerpt :

In the series from Hachisuga et al (12), the authors reported 375 cases in the lower extremity (229 cases in the calf region and the ankle), 48 cases in the head, 14 in the trunk, and 125 cases in the upper extremities, with 25 cases in the elbow and 56 in the hands. Leiomyomas in the hand have been described in the literature and account for 10% to 17% of all such tumors (4, 10, 12, 38–40, 44–60). Men are more often affected than women in the hands (12, 40), and the peak occurrence in the hands is when the patient is in the fourth to sixth decades of life.
