Effect of magnetic force on O<inf>2</inf> gas transmission rate for porous alumina
2023, Ceramics InternationalEffects of adiabatic flame temperature on flames’ characteristics in a gas-turbine combustor
2022, EnergyCitation Excerpt :The reduction in fuel consumption is due to the decrease in the diluent (N2) which siphons part of the produced energy. A similar finding was reported by Kimura and Browall [15]. Lambert et al. [33] reported that oxygen-enriched combustion reduces fuel consumption and the best level of enrichment is 29%.
Oxygen enrichment of air: Performance guidelines for membranes based on techno-economic assessment
2022, Journal of Membrane ScienceCitation Excerpt :Low-purity OEA obtained from the membrane process can be attractive for several industrial applications. Kimura and Browall demonstrated the feasibility of using a membrane process for O2 enrichment (purity of 33%) in heating systems with direct flame impingement, and concluded that almost 40% of the natural gas fuel could be saved [6]. Later, Rigby and Watson showed that OEA from the membrane process with purity of 24–27% can be coupled with direct injection diesel engines to significantly increase the thermal efficiency and decrease the particulate emissions [21].

2019, Experimental Thermal and Fluid SciencePreliminary techno-economic and environmental assessment of thickness dependent physical aging in oxygen enriched combustion using polymeric membranes
2017, Journal of Cleaner ProductionCitation Excerpt :Gas configuration in the membrane can be adequately characterized through plug flow, whereby strictly no gas mixing has been assumed (Ahmad et al., 2012, 2013; Lock et al., 2015a; Lock et al., 2015b; Oishi et al., 1961; Pan and Habgood, 1978; Pettersen and Lien, 1994; Stern and Walawender, 1969; Thundyil and Koros, 1997). Validity of the model merely holds true for a binary gas mixture as a first step to demonstrate the realistic modelling and simulation of industrial gas separation of oxygen enriched air combustion with physical aging consideration (Ahmad et al., 2012, 2013; Hussain and Hägg, 2010; Thundyil and Koros, 1997), such as O2/N2 separation in current work (Bhide and Stern, 1991a, b; Jain, 1989; Kimura and Browall, 1986; Lin et al., 2013; Matson et al., 1986). Isothermal condition has been assumed throughout the membrane module (Davis, 2002; Lock et al., 2015a, 2015b; Murad Chowdhury et al., 2005; Pan, 1986; Tessendorf et al., 1996; Thundyil and Koros, 1997).
