Resection of the largest reported hepatic small vessel neoplasm
2018, Human PathologyCitation Excerpt :At present, complete resection and ongoing surveillance is indicated due to the lack of data regarding long-term behavior and malignant potential. Other reported hepatic vascular tumors have histologic features in common with HSVN, but prior studies have focused more on imaging characteristics [8,9], and none of the tumors described exhibit the infiltrative border typical of HSVN. A case report and review of the literature up to 2011 [10] including six previously reported capillary hemangioma cases from Japan [11] detailed capillary-sized vessels with rounded endothelial cell lining and lack of nuclear atypia but the tumor borders were clearly defined and separated from the liver by a fibrous capsule, in contrast with the infiltrative borders of HSVN [10].
Magnetic resonance imaging of a small vessel hepatic hemangioma in a cirrhotic patient with histopathologic correlation
2015, Clinical ImagingCitation Excerpt :Small vessel hemangiomas, as we describe in our case report, represent a distinct pathologic entity and are very rare [4]. This type of vascular lesion has been reported under different names, such as adult capillary hemangioma and small vessel hepatic hemangioma [4–6]. The incidence of small vessel hemangiomas is not known.
