2020, Food and Chemical ToxicologyCitation Excerpt :It seems that in this study, BIA estimated FM percentage in accordance with abdominal adiposity as indicated by WC measurements. Kettanech et al. (Kettaneh et al., 2005) have also demonstrated a high level of reproducibility in the measurement of FM% by foot-to-foot BIA, compared with anthropometric measurements of adiposity (WC and skinfold thickness) in children. Furthermore, adolescents with abdominal obesity and/or MetS demonstrated significantly higher BMR values than those of adolescents without abdominal obesity/MetS.

2018, Sleep MedicineCitation Excerpt :Half a kilogram was deducted from the total weight to account for the weight of clothes, in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Reliability of bioimpedance analysis has been previously demonstrated in pediatric populations [24] and the following information was generated: weight (kg); fat %; fat mass (kg); BMI (kg/m2). All of these outcomes, as well as waist and neck circumference, were used as indicators of overweight/obesity.

2013, American Journal of Preventive MedicineCitation Excerpt :The Tanita TBF-310 has been found to be a convenient method to assess %BF in groups of children. Children's %BF generated by this scale has been associated with anthropometric measurements (e.g., sum of skinfolds and waist circumference), with intraclass correlation coefficients between 0.90 and 0.95.39 Other researchers, such as Radley et al.,40 have suggested using the Tanita TBF-310 to obtain group mean values rather individual values in children.
