Evaluation of Systemic Medications Associated With Surgically Treated Cataract Among US Adults
2023, American Journal of OphthalmologyInsulin therapy and hypoglycemia
2012, Endocrinology and Metabolism Clinics of North AmericaCitation Excerpt :Spyer and colleagues55 reported that counterregulation occurs at higher glucose levels in well-controlled (HgbA1c 7.4%) type 2 DM than in nondiabetic individuals. Heller54 found that when type 1 and type 2 DM patients are matched for insulin therapy and glycemic control there is not a significant difference in hypoglycemia frequency. In a study comparing those with and without hypoglycemia unawareness and type 2 DM, Ohno and colleagues63 found indirect evidence to suggest autonomic neuropathy in those with hypoglycemia unawareness.
