2015, Seminars in Diagnostic PathologyCitation Excerpt :Immunohistochemistry showed all lesions to exhibit co-expression of melanocytic and smooth muscle-associated markers. Seven patients with bladder PEComa were surgically treated by partial cystectomy, 6 by transurethral resection, and 3 underwent both the treatments, one of whom had a total cystectomy.114 Five were alive and well, one died of widespread metastatic disease 12 months after diagnosis, and another had recurrence at 6 months from diagnosis.
