It was an unusually busy hospital follow up clinic, with the waiting room full of clock watching, disgruntled patients and the clinic falling further and further behind time. As I read through the next customer's notes, I saw that he was a homeless alcoholic, and I stereotyped him as someone who was likely to be drunk, possibly abusive, and probably time consuming.
