Investigation of ultrashort pulse parameters under SRS temporal compression

Abstract

Based on numerical simulations, we analyze the compression of femtosecond pulses by forward stimulated Raman scattering (SRS). We have revealed the main patterns and determined the optimal conditions of this process to achieve the highest conversion efficiency. The influence of diffraction effects on the generation and compression of Gaussian beams is investigated.
